356 residents signed a petition requesting a Community Governance Review to consider creating a new Peaslake Parish Council . 

 

Guildford Borough Council approved  a Community Governance Review and published terms of reference on 12th May.

The Review is specifically on whether a new civil parish of Peaslake and a new Peaslake Parish Council should be established. 

An initial consultation has started and will continue until 7th July.

Shere Parish Council voted on 28 May at an Extraordinary Council meeting that it was not in the best interests of the Parish to enable Peaslake to form its own Council.  They produced their assessment of the case entitled Public Community Governance Review Information Sheet. You can read it here.
